It is 7:18 am and I am watching the full moon slip under a bank of trees on the horizon. I woke up periodically the last two evenings because the moon was shining so brightly into my room.
According to Space.com This moon is the largest, brightest and first full moon of this year (2010)..Around 8pm or 9 last evening I found my self staring at the moon from my frigid front porch. Imagine my surprise when I saw the moon again at 6:15 when I was back on the porch letting little Roxy outside. According to reports, this full moon is about 14 percent larger and 30 per cent brighter than the usual full moons of the year.
The Farmer's Almanac tells us that in January Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, January's full Moon was called Wolf Moon by the Native American tribes.
Astrologically this full moon is in Leo aligning with mars and illuminating the intense :Pluto Saturn square that will be exact some time on Sunday.
What ever however you look at this moon it certainly has an impact.
Watching it set this morning was memorizing, I snapped a few photo's but I don't think they did much justice to this beautiful moon.
I have enjoyed a quiet evening with this moon last night, finding my self simply going into the energy of the moon and using it's illumination to take a good look at old patterns that need to be shed!
The moon has finally completely dissipated to my eye and the sun is up trying to shine.... time to move forward with the tasks of the day! :)
