otter and rabbit

28Feb2010

This week we have the otter supported by rabbit. Last week spider supported by dragonfly. Two members of the insect family were with us last week and this week to furry little mammals.
The otter loves play, in fact I have never been so delighted as when I saw otters playing in New Hampshire. diving and chasing each other in the water and popping up onto rocks to roll around and have a grand old time.
Lately I see rabbit tracks going out to the bird feeding stations. Every morning the tracks lead to the excess seed that the birds spill to the ground. Yet I seldom see the rabbits and when i do they run so fast.
Rabbit or "fear caller" is coming to us this week as support. We may call upon the rabbit energy to help us look at our fears perhaps this will allow us to free up the playful energy of the Otter!

So is the motto of the week "FACE YOUR FEARS AND PLAY?"
or is it " SHAKE YOURSELF OUT OF YOUR PARALYSIS AND FIND SOME JOY IN YOUR LIFE?"...............Hmmm....let's see what comes up on this mornings call :)

More thoughts on rabbit

Blessings in the light
Every week we are challenged to observe the relationship between the totem animal of the week and the totem animal Support of the week.
It is obvious with rabbit as support, that one can face their fears and feel them ,letting them run through the body and into the earth. But how else might rabbit support us in opening to the otter energy?
Yesterday I was reading a book about a great shaman of the past and I stumbled on more information of how rabbit can support.
" the important part was that Watchers Over-the-land had been one of the most powerful Medicine men of his time: perhaps of any time. Certainly right up there with Wo-vo-ka, also called Crazy Horse, or any of the other great Medicine Chiefs. he, however, had chosen Rabbit's way; to hide and be silent, in order to preserve things for future generations."
The way that the rabbit sits still and observes can be a great tool for us to emulate. As we observe the energies around us in this ever changing world, we can find new ways to be centered and still and through stillness we can find truth.....
