A small group of us gathered this morning for meditation. During the meditation we focused as a group on relaxing, deepening and healing our selves.
We consciously used our breath and visualization, repetitively, to give the mind and body suggestions that would take us to the space that we wanted to go to.
We visualized 3 colors and three commands. We used the color red with the command relax. We used the color violet with the command deeper, and we used the color blue with the command healthier.
A simple phrase was used over and over: In order to achieve a deeper, healthier state of mind focus on the color red, breathing it in on the inward breath and on the outward breath, mentally repeat RELAX, RELAX.
The meditation can be led within your own self or in a group by a leader. The continuos repetition along with the visuals gives the mind something to do, to keep it from wandering and helps you set the space for a deeper meditation.
Eventually you move from the red to the violet where you say: In order to achieve a deeper, healthier state of mind focus on the color violet, drawing the violet into your body and on the outward breath mentally repeat DEEPER, DEEPER DEEPER.... You stay there for several breaths (how ever long it takes to help you or the group feel deeper and more centered) moving the violet energy to any place in the body that feels contracted or tight.
Eventually you move into the blue where you start to focus on the health of the body. The blue can be sent to any place in the physical body that needs healing. The blue energy can also be sent or directed towards mental attitudes or emotional feelings that need adjusting or healing. In order to achieve a deeper healthier state of mind and body focus on the color blue and on the outward breath mentally repeat HEALTHIER, HEALTHIER, HEALTHIER.
Moving through this repetition for 20 minutes before you simply sit can help relax the body and open the individual to receive more energy and achieve a deeper connection with Spirit.
